Embarking on the journey of buying a new home is one of life's biggest milestones. While we often look at amenities, location, and price, the energetic architecture—Vastu Shastra—is what truly determines if a house will become a home of prosperity or a source of struggle.
1. The Entrance: The Mouth of Prosperity
The main door is where energy (Prana) enters. Ideally, it should face North, East, or North-East. Avoid houses with a South-West entrance at all costs, as this is the zone of 'expenditure' and instability. Ensure the entrance is well-lit and not facing a direct obstacle like a lamp post or a T-junction.
2. Room Placement: The Elemental Balance
- Kitchen (Fire): Should be in the South-East. If it's in the North-East, it can cause health issues and mental stress.
- Master Bedroom (Earth): Should be in the South-West to provide stability to the head of the family.
- Pooja Room (Spirit): The North-East (Eesanya) is the most sacred corner, ideal for meditation and prayer.
3. The Shape of the House
Vastu favors symmetry. A square or rectangular house is ideal. Avoid L-shaped or U-shaped houses with massive cut-outs, as these represent missing elements in your life. A 'Gau-mukh' (cow-shaped) plot—narrower in front and wider at the back—is considered auspicious for residential purposes.
