Construction Vastu is about more than just where the rooms go. It's about the timing and the ritual of bringing a structure to life. Following these steps ensures the 'Vastu Purusha' is happy and protecting your family.
Step 1: Bhumi Pujan
The first digging should always happen in the North-East corner. This is where the head of the Vastu Purusha lies. Invoking the earth's permission before construction is vital for a smooth building process.
Step 2: The Foundation and Pillars
Start building from the South-West and move towards the North and East. Ensure there are an even number of pillars in the house. Avoid placing any pillar in the absolute center of the house (Brahmasthan).
Step 3: The Compound Wall
The South and West compound walls should be thicker and higher than the North and East walls. This acts as a 'shield' against the harsh afternoon sun and retains the positive energy entering from the North-East.
